Job summary

StudentNest Inc. is hiring part-time tutors to support 6th-8th grade students in Middle School Science and Math in Sanford, FL. In-person, 3 days a week during the school day, starting in September, with a $30/hour pay rate.

You will deliver small group tutoring, support students with IEPs, manage classroom dynamics, and adapt methods to diverse learners. A Florida teaching credential is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with State of Florida DOE Statement of Eligibility (ESE) certificate.
• Experience with struggling students and at-promise populations is preferred.

Location:

• Sanford, FL 32771 (Seminole County Public Schools)
• Millennium Middle School

Schedule:

• Starts in September
• In-person, Tues, Weds & Thurs

Hours:

• Part-time
• 3x per week
• 6 hours per day with 30 minute unpaid lunch break, during the school day

Pay:

• $30 per hour

In this role, you will:

• Work as a Tutor, supporting 6-8th grade students in Middle School Science (General Science and Environmental Science) or Math (Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry).
• Support students in Special Education with IEP's.
• Provide small group tutoring sessions to students using the provided curriculum and learning technology.
• Manage classroom dynamics to ensure a conducive learning environment.
• Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.

• A teaching credential issued by the state of Florida A bachelor's degree accompanied by a Statement of Eligibility issued by the Florida Department of Education (ESE Certificate)
  • Credential must be in Science, Math, or Multi Subject. Non-Science or Math credentialed teachers will be considered if you have experience teaching Math or Science and have a strong knowledge and familiarity with Math or Science.
• Experience working with struggling students and at-promise populations is preferred
• Have classroom experience teaching or supporting reading instruction
• Can complete the fingerprinting process within 48 hours of an offer
• In this role you will need to be able to meet DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance requirements for this position
• You can provide 3 professional references
• You are detail-oriented and highly dependable
• You are an effective communicator
• You have reliable transportation
• You can provide a negative tuberculosis test within 2 weeks of being hired
