Job summary

StudentNest Group in Florida seeks tutors to deliver targeted instruction in reading or math for elementary and high school students. You will provide 1:1 or small-group tutoring using provided curriculum, evidence-based strategies, and educational technology.

Ideal candidates have a Florida teaching credential and experience with Special Education, plus willingness to complete fingerprinting and DOJ/FBI clearance. In-person and virtual sessions with varied hours are available.

Qualifications

• A teaching credential issued by the state of Florida.
• A bachelor's degree accompanied by a Statement of Eligibility issued by the Florida Department of Education (ESE Certificate).
• Experience teaching or supporting reading instruction.
• Experience with Special Education students.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted instruction in reading or math to support elementary and/or high school aged students.
• Provide 1:1 or small-group tutoring using provided curriculum, evidence-based strategies, and educational technology.
• Support Special Education students by implementing accommodations and interventions aligned with their IEPs.
• Differentiate teaching strategies to meet diverse learning styles, academic needs, and developmental levels.
• Maintain effective classroom management to foster a safe, engaging learning environment.
• Track student progress and adjust instruction to promote academic growth and skill mastery.
• Prepare lesson plans for sessions during designated preparation time.

Schedule:

• In-person and virtual sessions during the school day

Hours:

• Varied hours on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Pay:

• $30 per hour

In this role, you will:

• Support Special Education studentsby implementing accommodations and interventions aligned with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Differentiate teaching strategiesto meet diverse learning styles, academic needs, and developmental levels.
• Maintain effective classroom managementto foster a safe, engaging, and conducive learning environment.
• Track student progressand adjust instruction to promote academic growth and skill mastery.
• Prepare lesson plansfor sessions during designated preparation time.

• Have classroom experience teaching or supporting reading instruction
• Have experience with Special Education students
• Have experience using the Science of Reading or willingness to be trained in this
• Can complete the fingerprinting process within 48 hours of an offer
• In this role you will need to be able to meet DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance requirements for this position
• You can provide 3 professional references

• You have reliable transportation
• You can provide a negative tuberculosis test within 2 weeks of being hired
