Job summary

Paterson Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our district. You will design and implement instruction for students with disabilities, aligning with IEP goals and NJSLS requirements.

Collaboration with school leaders, staff, and families will be essential as you analyze data to continuously improve the instructional program and foster a nurturing classroom environment that supports student growth and achievement.

Qualifications

• Must hold NJ instructional certificate and a Students with Disabilities or Teacher of the Handicapped certification.
• Experience working with students with special needs.
• Ability to modify curriculum and provide individualized instruction based upon IEP goals.
• Ability to motivate and work in teams to achieve academic expectations.
• Collaborate with school leaders to collect, analyze, and use data to modify the instructional program.
• Communicate effectively in English with students, staff, parents, administrators, and community.
• Provide a nurturing, positive classroom climate with effective classroom management.
• Knowledge of the NJSLS and NJSLA.
• Critical thinker, problem solver, and respectful.
• Computer literate and able to use interactive computer instructional software.
• Excellent classroom management.
