Job summary

Spectrum 360 A NJ Non Profit Corp. seeks a dedicated educator to teach middle school students with exceptional needs in Paterson, NJ. The role requires specialized NJ certifications in content area and SWD or TOH, plus experience with special education assessments and program requirements.

Qualifications

• Must hold a NJ middle school content area certificate with a Students with Disabilities certificate or a Teacher of the Handicapped certificate.

Job description

Qualifications:

• Must hold a New Jersey Middle School content area certificate with a Students with Disabilities certificate or hold a Teacher of the Handicapped certificate
• Have excellent experience in teaching and working with children with exceptional needs unless entering teaching from an alternative certification program.
• Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of the specialized certification area, including an understanding of the current rules and regulations regarding special education assessment and program requirements.
• Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative.
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of child growth and development, children with disabilities, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning and children with exceptional needs.
• Experience working with middle school students
• Excellent interpersonal skills, integrity, and good moral character
• Must be a critical thinker, problem solver, and respect others
• Must be computer literate and able to use interactive computer instructional software
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with staff, students, parents, and the community
