Job summary

Easterseals of Southeast Pennsylvania seeks an energetic Special Education Teacher to serve young children with disabilities within our Approved Private School (APS) preschool program in Philadelphia.

You will lead the classroom team, develop and manage IEPs, monitor progress, design engaging lessons, collaborate with OT/PT/SLP and other staff, and communicate regularly with families to support continued growth at home.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Special Education.
• Requires Pennsylvania Special Education teaching certification.
• Experience with preschool or early childhood special education preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of IEP development and progress monitoring.
• Strong leadership to guide classroom assistants and foster collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead the classroom team including classroom assistants to ensure consistent lesson plans and a safe learning environment.
• Develop, implement, and manage IEPs compliant with state and federal regulations.
• Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Design engaging lesson plans promoting academic, social, and developmental growth.
• Collaborate with related service providers (OT, PT, SLP, etc.) to integrate supports.
• Communicate regularly with families about progress, goals, and strategies for home growth.

Job Description

Easterseals of Southeast Pennsylvania seeks an energetic and passionate Special Education Teacher to serve young children with disabilities within our Approved Private School (APS) preschool program at the Philadelphia location.

The Special Education Teacher will:

Lead the classroom team, including classroom assistants, to ensure consistent implementation of lesson plans, student supports, and a safe, positive learning environment.

Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and adjust instruction and strategies to meet individual needs.

Design and deliver engaging lesson plans that promote academic, social, and developmental growth.

Collaborate with related service providers (OT, PT, SLP, etc.) to integrate therapeutic and educational supports throughout the school day.

Communicate regularly with families about student progress, IEP goals, and strategies for continued growth at home.

Support students’ personal care and developmental needs in a nurturing, inclusive classroom setting.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education required.

Pennsylvania Special Education teaching certification required.
