Job summary

Easterseals Western & Central Pennsylvania is seeking a Special Education Teacher at East School Site in Export, PA. The role requires a 4-year degree and PA Special Education Certification, with 1 year of SPED experience preferred. Responsibilities include IEP development, progress reporting, and RR documentation. Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., school calendar with benefits.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe classroom atmosphere and promote developmentally appropriate practices.
• Prepare, write, and implement an Individualized Educational Program (IEP) for the student.
• Collect, interpret and report progress of data on student IEP goals.
• Assess student development and performance using standardized and informal tools.
• Complete written Re-evaluation Reports (RR) for each student as requested.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES-Special Education Teacher

• Provide a safe, accepting classroom atmosphere and use teaching techniques that promote developmentally appropriate practices, physical, social, emotional and psychological growth for each student.
• Prepare, write, and implement an Individualized Educational Program (IEP) for the student.
• Collect, interpret and report progress of data collected on student IEP goals.
• Assess student development and performance using standardized and informal assessment tools.
• Complete written comprehensive Re-evaluation Reports (RR) for each student as requested.

BENEFITS

• Work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.,7-hour days. Working, full time, 35 hours per week, with a typical school calendar of 9.5 months per year! The hourly rate is $35. We do offer the option to earn extra income with summer employment as well.
