Job summary

Pinewood Elementary in the Monticello School District is seeking a certified Special Education Teacher to support elementary students with IEP goals. The role emphasizes small group instruction, work completion assistance, and collaboration with mainstream teachers and other service providers.

You will implement state and federal special education requirements, coordinate with families, and maintain confidentiality while fostering a culturally responsive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed Special Education Teacher in Minnesota.
• Experience working with elementary students with special needs.
• Knowledge of due process and timelines in special education.
• Experience completing Part B evaluations.
• Ability to ensure and implement state and federal laws pertaining to special education.
• Team oriented approach with students, families, teachers and administrators.

Job Description

This position is working with elementary students with individual needs that meet criteria for Special Education. This includes small group instruction, work completion assistance, and teaming with mainstream teachers. The Special Education teacher will collaborate with other service providers during the day to meet student needs.

License & Experience

• Licensed Special Education Teacherin the State of Minnesota
• Knowledge and experien ce working with students with special education needs.
• Experience working with elementarystudentsand families
• Knowledge and experience completing due processand follow timeline requirements of special education
• Experience completing Part B evaluations
• Must be able to assure and implement state and federal laws, statutes, rules and regulations pertaining to special education
• Team oriented approach when working with students, colleagues, families, and administrators
• Effective communication and teaming skills, both verbally and in writing, with students, parents, teachers, administrators, community and staff
• Establishes a culture for learning by supporting the mission, beliefs and the strategic plan of the district
• Inspires and engages all students in relevant learning
• Maintain confidentiality of information about students, staff and families
• Experience working with diverse students and families - experience/training with CLR (Culturally Linguistically Responsive) methods preferred
