Qualifications

• Must hold a New Jersey Middle School content area certificate with a Students with Disabilities certificate or hold a Teacher of the Handicapped certificate.
• Have excellent experience in teaching and working with children with exceptional needs unless entering teaching from an alternative certification program.
• Demonstrate knowledge of current rules and regulations regarding special education assessment and program requirements.
• Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative.
• Demonstrate knowledge of child growth, disabilities, instructional strategies, classroom management, assessment, and related research.
• Experience working with middle school students.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with staff, students, parents, and the community.
• Must be computer literate and able to use interactive computer instructional software.
• Meet such alternatives to above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
• Pending budget availability
