Paterson Public School District 316 NEW ROBERTO CLEMENTE - Paterson, New Jersey is seeking a Teacher Special Ed. Resource (Middle School) to support students with disabilities and work with general educators to adapt curriculum and create an inclusive learning environment.

Candidates must hold a New Jersey Middle School content area certificate with a Students with Disabilities or Teacher of the Handicapped certificate, and have proven experience with exceptional needs in a middle school

Qualifications

• Must hold a New Jersey Middle School content area certificate with a Students with Disabilities certificate or hold a Teacher of the Handicapped certificate
• Have excellent experience in teaching and working with children with exceptional needs unless entering teaching from an alternative certification program.
• Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of the specialized certification area, including an understanding of the current rules and regulations regarding special education assessment and program requirements.
• Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative.
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of child growth and development, children with disabilities, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning and children with exceptional needs.
• Experience workingwith middle school students
• Excellent interpersonal skills, integrity, and good moral character
• Must be a critical thinker, problem solver, and respect others
• Must be computer literate and able to use interactive computer instructional software
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with staff, students, parents, and the community
