Job summary

Lighthouse Community Public Schools is seeking a TK-5 Teacher in Training to work full-time, with a pathway to enter the Alder Teacher Residency to earn a credential and your own classroom at Lighthouse or Lodestar. Tuition assistance to complete degree requirements is available.

The role includes academic and behavioral support for TK-5 students, specialized instruction, and collaboration with families and staff. A 10-month salary with probationary and growth opportunities is provided.

Qualifications

• BA or BS required.
• 2+ years of related experience in schools or youth settings preferred.
• With LCPS’s support, apply for and receive a California Substitute Permit.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic and behavioral support to a TK-5 caseload during core day.
• Deliver individualized or small group instruction in academic, literacy and math, and social-emotional learning.
• Communicate progress with families and collaborate with teachers.
• Assist in maintaining positive behavior interventions and progress documentation.
• Teach a class during ASP and lead enrichment activities.
• Assist with supervision during recess and lunch and support student engagement.
