Job summary

Ymca is seeking a part-time Teacher Float to move between classrooms at the State Street Early Learning Center at Hale Family YMCA. The role supports children’s physical, cognitive, and emotional development across preschool and toddler rooms, while maintaining the responsibilities of a standard Teacher.

The position emphasizes strong relationships with children and families, safety, inclusion, and collaboration with classroom teams, with adherence to EEC and NAEYC standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold EEC Teacher certification through the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.
• Knowledge of EEC regulations, QRIS Standards, and NAEYC best practices.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.

• Collaborate & Grow: Work with each classroom's team of educators to maintain a positive, cohesive atmosphere.

Job description

The Teacher Float position is a part-time position requiring a Monday through Friday schedule. Floaters move between classrooms (e.g., preschool or toddler rooms) but otherwise hold the same qualifications and responsibilities as our standard Teacher role. The opening is at the State Street Early Learning Center at Hale Family YMCA.

Salary and Schedule:

• $15.00 per hour.
• Sick time accrual: 1 hour per 30 hours worked.

Location:

• State Street Early Learning Center at Hale Family YMCA.
• PT within the hours of 7:30 AM-6:00 PM and open to flexible scheduling; Monday-Friday.
