Job summary

South Shore YMCA is seeking a Part Time Teacher for the State Street Early Learning Center at Hale Family YMCA in Quincy, MA. The role supports a Monday–Friday schedule, floating between preschool and toddler rooms, with a strong emphasis on safety, inclusion, and developmental milestones.

You will design engaging lessons, nurture relationships with children and families, and collaborate with teachers to maintain high standards and compliance with EEC regulations and NAEYC best practices.

Qualifications

• Must hold EEC Teacher certification through the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.
• Knowledge of EEC regulations, QRIS Standards, and NAEYC best practices.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.

Job description

The Part Time Teacher position is a part-time position requiring a Monday through Friday schedule. This role would float between classrooms (e.g., preschool or toddler rooms) but otherwise holds the same qualifications and responsibilities as our standard Teacher role. The opening is at the State Street Early Learning Center at Hale Family YMCA.

Salary and Schedule:

• $15.00 per hour.
• Sick time accrual: 1 hour per 30 hours worked.

Location:

• State Street Early Learning Center at Hale Family YMCA.
• PT within the hours of 7:30 AM-6:00 PM and open to flexible scheduling; Monday-Friday.
