Osseo Area Schools ISD 279 seeks a English teacher for a long-term substitute position at 279Online Middle School in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. The role commences January 4, 2027 and runs through April 2, 2027 as a 1.0 FTE temporary assignment.

The teacher will deliver English instruction, align with district guidelines, and communicate with guardians while supporting in-person, synchronous and asynchronous learning as applicable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • MN teaching license in appropriate field (Communication Arts/Literature), OR a valid MN teaching license in another field and willing to obtain an Out of Field Permission.
  • If not currently licensed, must be willing and eligible to apply for and receive a Tier 1 or 2.

Responsibilities

  • Inspire and prepare scholars; provide instruction and support in English and district curriculum.
  • Maintain contact with guardians/caregivers and involve them in student development.
  • Design, deliver, and assess curriculum; use/integrate instructional resources and technologies.
  • Provide in-person, synchronous and asynchronous learning when applicable; collaborate with others and participate in district/building leadership activities.

Provide instruction and support in the curriculum areas for which employed; make appropriate and equitable use of instructional resources and technologies; implement the goals and objectives of the district, school and/or program for which employed; maintain contact and communication with guardians/caregivers of scholars, working with them in the development of their scholar; design, deliver, and assess curriculum according to district guidelines; provide in-person, synchronous and asynchronous learning when applicable and work collaboratively with others. Willing to participate in district and building leadership activities.

Classroom Teacher
