SUMMARY

Effectively manage the learning environment to prepare lesson plans, instruct students, evaluate and monitor students’ performance in order to advance student achievement. Understand and appreciate diversity. Work collaboratively with a team to plan instruction. Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree
• Valid Arizona Elementary K-8 Teaching Certificate AND Provisional or Permanent Gifted Endorsement or willingness to pursue during the XXXX-XXXX school year.
• Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Experience with communicating with school personnel, students parent and the community; working with diverse populations including students with linguestic and cultural differences

REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO START DATE

• Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
• Valid Driver's license (Arizona Driver’s License required within 30 days of hire)
• MVReport – showing no more than the allowable points against Driver’s License as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services – Transportation by Employees.
• Reliable mode of personal transportation with evidence of insurance compliance greater than or equal to the state required minimum for car insurance as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services – Transportation by Employees

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

• Master's Degree
• 3 years experience working with a Multicultural or Ethnic Studies Program
• Bilingual: Spanish
• Extensive background in Africana and/or Mexican American Studies Coursework

COMMENTS

Effective: 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR

Location: Gifted and Talented Education (G.A.T.E.) - 36th & Campbell Area

• 2 positions at 1.0 FTE – 7.5 hours per day
• 1 Position at .8 FTE – 6 hours per day
• 1 Position at .7 FTE – 5.25 hours per day

Work Calendar: 9.5 month

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.

Salary will be prorated if the start date is after the first day of the work calendar for the position.

Probationary Contracts will be issued for any contingent Certifications, Positions that are 0.6 FTE or less, and certified employees within their first three years with the District.
