SUMMARY

Effectively manage the Exceptional Education learning environment to prepare lesson plans, provide specialized instruction, evaluate, monitor, and collect data on the students' performance in order to advance student achievement. Understand and appreciate diversity. Work collaboratively with a team to plan instruction. Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning. The Exceptional Education Teacher will complete required case management duties.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Arizona Special Education Teaching Certificate - Early Childhood
• Structured English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement
• Appropriate Special Education Endorsement/Approved Area
• Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO START DATE

• Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
• Valid Driver's license (Arizona Driver's Licenserequiredwithin 30 days of hire)
• MVReport -showing no more than the allowable points against Driver's License as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees.
• Reliable mode of personal transportation with evidence of insurance compliance greater than or equal to the state required minimum for car insurance as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

• Demonstrated success in engaging African American and Latino students
• Bilingual (Spanish) endorsement
• Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist is Preferred

COMMENTS

Effective: 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR

LOCATION: Exceptional Education Department - Sites vary

FTE: 1.0 -7.5 hours per day

Work Calendar: 9.5 month

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.

Salary will be prorated if the start date is after the first day of the work calendar for the position.

Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language.
