Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a procurement specialist to manage the acquisition of classes and services. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree and relevant experience in procurement.

Class Description

The purpose of this class is to manage the acquisition of classes, commodities and services through the competitive solicitation process, informal quote process, intergovernmental cooperative purchase agreements and State and local government contracts.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree and three years of related experience or Associate’s Degree and five years of related experience required, such as: preparing and conducting solicitations, evaluating bids and proposals, knowledge of and compliance with procurement rules and regulations; knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office applications and financial management systems.

Compensation

Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field. Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.

Class Specific Essential Duties
  1. Develop and manage the solicitation process for commodities and services.
  2. Review and approve purchase requisitions in accordance to the limit established by College policy.
  3. Review and evaluate competitive quote documentation.
  4. Act as a liaison between College community and vendors.
  5. Manage service contracts for performance, renewal and/or extension.
  6. Conduct bid openings, pre-proposal meetings and evaluation committee meetings.
Position Specific Essential Duties
  1. Assist with establishing standards for performance and quality, and preparing technical specifications.
  2. Communicate to the college community information as to vendor, product, pricing and procedural information and assist in identifying the best sources, pricing and scheduling for goods and services.
  3. Review available government and educational agency contracts for the college community.
  4. Work closely with Accounts Payable to assist in problem solving with payment of invoices.

Long‑Term Disability

Plan pays 60% of gross monthly salary after 90 consecutive days of absence. Employee pays 100% of premium.

The Roth 403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors: TIAA‑CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. Adjunct Faculty, Part‑Time Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save for retirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees may contribute traditional pre‑tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b) post‑tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combined for the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.

Tuition Assistance
