Job Description

An Assistant Teacher works with the supervising teacher to provide direct care and meet the needs of the children enrolled at the Child Care Center. This position helps maintain a safe and sanitary environment, shares ideas, and assists in providing a stimulating atmosphere that supports the ongoing development of the children. The role also helps the program maintain all operational codes and meet licensing requirements.

Compensation

Pay Range: $17.00 - $20.40 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum age: 16 years.
• Education in early childhood education is preferred.
• Experience in early childhood education is preferred.
• Must pass a sworn statement or affirmation for child care program and background check (Child Abuse Registry). Additional background check required for individuals who resided outside Virginia in the past five years.
• Must be able to perform all duties and meet or exceed the minimum standards required in licensing regulations for licensed childcare centers.
