Job summary

Child Care Resources Inc in Virginia is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support a safe, nurturing classroom for children from 6 weeks to 9 years. You will work closely with staff and families to keep daily routines smooth and engaging.

You’ll assist the Lead Teacher, help manage the classroom, support cleanliness and safety, and build strong relationships with children and families as part of a professional team.

Job description

We are seeking a caring and energetic individual to join our team as an Assistant Teacher. This is a vital support role in the classroom and an essential part of keeping our day running smoothly.

As an Assistant Teacher, you’ll work closely with staff and families to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children. Our center serves children ages 6 weeks to 9 years, and staff are expected to be comfortable working with all age groups.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the classroom Lead Teacher to maintain a positive, organized learning environment
  • Supporting daily routines, classroom management, and cleanliness
  • Building strong, respectful relationships with children and families
  • Contributing to a team culture that values communication, empathy, and professionalism

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys teamwork, takes direction well, and finds joy in helping children learn and grow.

Nice To Have
  • 6 Months of experience in a licensed child care, but will train the right person
  • Knowledge of Virginia State Licensing Standards
  • CDA or Child development courses but not necessary
