Job summary

Child Care Associates is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support classroom teachers and staff in creating a safe, nurturing learning environment for young children. The ideal candidate has at least six months of childcare experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a plan to obtain an age-appropriate CDA within one year.

Qualifications

• Warm, calm, and patient approach with infants.
• Reliable, insured vehicle for transportation.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, annual TB test, and biennial background check.

Responsibilities

• Support campus staff and assist in assigned classrooms as needed.
• Guide children in activities that support physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development under teacher supervision.
• Respond to individual developmental needs of infants and toddlers.
• Actively supervise children indoors and on the playground.
• Help prepare materials and adapt the physical environment as needed.
• Monitor children to ensure safety at all times.
• Maintain positive communication with children and families.
• Assist with meals, diapering/toileting, hygiene, rest, and play routines.
• Keep classroom areas clean, organized, and sanitary, including light cleaning tasks.
• Complete 20 hours of annual training and attend required staff development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to frequently walk and stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to twist, turn, kneel, bend, and stoop.

• Must be able to monitor children’s safety in activities when needed.
