Job summary

Apple Montessori Schools in Westfield, NJ is seeking a compassionate Teacher Assistant for Infant classrooms to support Lead Teachers in creating a warm Montessori environment where children explore, grow, and gain confidence. You will help prepare learning spaces, implement lessons, maintain records, and communicate with families while encouraging independence and creativity.

Work hours are Mon-Fri, 8:00am–1:00pm or 1:00pm–6:30pm, with benefits including health options and professional

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED completed.
• CPR / First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Genuine love of children and a nurturing approach.
• Ability to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment for all students.
• Collaborate with Lead Teacher to support and implement lesson plans.
• Maintain accurate student records and assist with family communication.
• Encourage positive self-image while supporting individuality and creativity.

Teacher Assistant Infant

Location: Westfield, NJ

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 1:00pm OR 1:00pm to 6:30pm

As aTeacher Assistant at Apple Montessori Schools, you'll have the opportunity to turn your passion for working with children into a meaningful career in Early Childhood Education. You will work closely with Lead Teachers to support children as they explore, grow, and build independence in a nurturing Montessori environment. Our Teacher Assistants provide warmth, encouragement, and guidance as children try new experiences, form friendships, and develop confidence and curiosity.

As a member of our teaching team, some of your responsibilities will include:
