The Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12 in Greencastle is seeking a Teacher Assistant for Early Intervention Preschool. This floating position supports instruction in a specialized preschool classroom two afternoons per week and collaborates with teachers to implement lesson plans in Franklin County.

Program: Special Education - Early Intervention Preschool
Description: As a Teacher Assistant with the Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12, this role plays an essential part in enhancing students' educational experience by supporting instruction, helping implement lesson plans, and fostering a positive learning environment. It also helps maintain continuity in the educational program established by the teacher. Through dedication to student success and close collaboration with the teaching team, this position contributes to a dynamic and supportive learning atmosphere.
This position will be an assistant in a specialized preschool classroom 2 afternoons per week at Greencastle Church of the Brethren. The other days and times of the week will be in other specialized preschool classrooms across Franklin County as a floating assistant.
Due to the hybrid nature of this position, travel is required across Franklin County.

Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
Must have or obtain and maintain a current certificate in First Aid and CPR
Must be able to get on and off the floor, lift, assist with toileting and feeding, and assist with supporting the teacher and students.
Experience working with preschool-aged children with special needs is preferred. Candidate should be comfortable engaging in active, hands‑on support, including frequently transitioning to and from the floor, and maintaining a high level of energy, attentiveness, and responsiveness throughout the day.
Must have or obtain and maintain current certificate in LIU‑approved crisis management and intervention program, preferred
Must obtain additional competency as mandated by PA Dept. of Education (within one year from date of hire)
Must complete twenty (20) hours of professional development related to assignment each year
Relevant experience working with students in an educational setting (preferred)
Patience, flexibility, and positive attitude
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with teachers and staff
Terms of Employment: Full‑time, 7 hours/day, 188 days/year (follows the traditional school year schedule)
Salary: $18.91 per hour (those assigned to Franklin Learning Center, Paradise, or the York Learning Center will earn an additional $0.25/hr.)
