Job summary

Primrose School of Manhattan is seeking an Assistant Teacher to create a fun, safe learning environment for infants through preschoolers. You will follow Balanced Learning curriculum, guide children through purposeful play and collaborate with a co-teacher to deliver engaging lessons.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, CPR/First Aid certification, and the ability to lift up to 35 lbs. The position offers opportunities for advancement and benefits, with virtual interviews

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous teaching experience required.
• CPR / First Aid certified required.
• Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children in childcare setting.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. and assist with infant handling.
• Employee must be at least 18 years of age.

• Spend your days building genuine relationships with each child.
• Help children explore the world, improve motor skills and grow vocabulary.
• Work with a co-teacher to implement Balanced Learning curriculum.

As an Assistant Teacher at the Primrose of Manhattan at East 82nd Street you’ll create a fun, safe environment with a daily schedule designed to develop children's confidence and independence. Our teachers help guide infants through preschool age children through small group instruction as they grow their ability to absorb new content and understand increasingly complex information.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous teaching experience required
• CPR / First Aid certified required
• Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children in childcare setting
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. Must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib.
• Employee must be at least 18 years of age.

Hourly compensation $21-$25/hour, depending on experience and credentials
