Job summary

Primrose School of Manhattan is hiring an Assistant Teacher at East 82nd Street to create a safe, nurturing learning environment. You will support infants through preschool with balanced learning and purposeful play, while building relationships and guiding children through development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Previous teaching experience is required.
• CPR/First Aid certification is required.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs and handle children safely.
• Employee must be at least 18 years old.

• Build genuine relationships with each child.
• Support daily routines and safety.
• Assist in implementing Balanced Learning curriculum with co-teacher.
• Maintain a clean, organized classroom to foster exploration and decision-making.

As an Assistant Teacher at the Primrose of Manhattan at East 82nd Street you’ll create a fun, safe environment with a daily schedule designed to develop children’s confidence and independence. Our teachers help guide infants through preschool age children through small group instruction as they grow their ability to absorb new content and understand increasingly complex information.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous teaching experience required
• CPR / First Aid certified required
• Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children in childcare setting
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. Must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib.
• Employee must be at least 18 years of age.

Hourly compensation $21-$25/hour, depending on experience and credentials
