Job summary

Vineyard Montessori School is seeking Paraprofessionals/Teacher Aides for Infant to Elementary classrooms. You will support lead teachers in a Montessori setting, engage with children, and help guide routines to promote independence and curiosity.

This role offers year-round work, with both part-time and full-time opportunities. Requirements include being 18+, a high school diploma or equivalent, strong communication skills, and a genuine interest in child development and Montessori education.

• Assist with strengthening foundational literacy skills through developmentally appropriate activities.
• Maintain a calm, organized classroom and ensure student safety under supervision of Lead Teacher.

Job description

VMS is seeking Teacher Aides/Paraprofessionals for our Infant Classroom (ages 8 weeks - 15 months), Toddler Classroom (ages 15 months - 2.9 years), Primary Classroom (ages 3 years - 6 years), Elementary Classroom (6 years - 12 years).

The Paraprofessional/Teacher Aide plays a vital role in supporting the Lead Teacher in creating a nurturing, respectful, and developmentally appropriate Montessori learning environment. They actively engage with children, guiding them through daily routines and supporting their independence, curiosity, and love of learning. In a Montessori environment, the Paraprofessional/Teacher Aide reinforces lessons introduced by the Lead Teacher and assists with the instructional and developmental needs of students by providing individualized and small-group cross curriculum support. They help students strengthen foundational literacy skills through developmentally appropriate, hands-on, and student-centered practices. The Paraprofessional/Teacher Aide’s adaptability and proactive approach help ensure the classroom functions smoothly and every child receives consistent, high-quality care and education.

As a role model and educator, the Paraprofessional/Teacher Aide helps maintain a calm, organized, and purposeful learning environment, ensuring safety and alignment with Montessori values, while working collaboratively under the Lead Teacher's guidance.

This position is available part-time and/or full-time, and is a year-round position.

Salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000/year and is determined by the candidates prior experience and working hours.
