Vineyard Montessori School seeks a Montessori Certified Lead Teacher for infant through elementary classrooms on Martha’s Vineyard. The role guides child development across ages, maintains a peaceful learning setting, and collaborates with families and staff to support each child’s growth.
Requirements include MACTE Montessori certification, EEC Lead Teacher certification, and a BS in Early Childhood Education or related experience.
VMS is seeking Montessori Certified Teachers for our Infant Classroom (ages 8 weeks – 15 months), Toddler Classroom (ages 15 months – 2.9 years), Primary Classroom (ages 3 years – 6 years), Elementary Classroom (6 years – 12 years).
The Lead Teacher of a Montessori classroom is a guide who helps direct the children’s activities academically, emotionally, and physically in a prepared and peaceful Montessori environment that challenges each child to reach their fullest potential in the developmental areas, in accordance with Montessori Philosophy. The lead teacher shall set up, operate, and maintain the order and neatness characteristic of the Montessori environment. The teacher shall possess collaborative communication standards with all families and staff striving to become the most effective educator possible. Lead teacher responsibilities fall under six (6) categories which are Leadership, Teacher-Child Interactions, Environment, Planning and Scheduling, Staff Relations, and Family Involvement.

These are full-time, year-round positions.
Salary range for this position is $65-$80K/year and is determined by the candidates prior experience. Applicants relocating to Martha’s Vineyard receive a moving stipend.
