Maryland School for the Deaf (MSD) seeks qualified substitute teacher aides to support classrooms on an as-needed, on-call basis. The MSD fosters an inclusive, language-rich environment, providing services for deaf and hard of hearing students from birth to age 21 in a bilingual ASL/English setting.
Responsibilities include implementing instructional programs, following behavior plans, ensuring student safety, and maintaining confidentiality.
Anticipated openings for the 2026-2027 School Year. The Maryland School for the Deaf provides an inclusive, language-rich environment for deaf and hard of hearing students from birth through age 21. Rooted in a bilingual education approach, we ensure full access to American Sign Language and English across comprehensive academic, extracurricular, and student life programs. In partnership with families and communities, we empower students to think critically and develop a sense of self and belonging. We are currently accepting applications to create a pool of qualified individuals who can work on an as needed basis to temporarily provide classroom support on any given day.

Substitute teacher aides are responsible for the implementation of student instructional programs and daily schedules as directed by the teacher. Candidates must comply with and support MSD's regulations and policies. Substitute teacher aides need to be available on an on-call basis.
