Job summary

LearnWell in Monroe, NC seeks a passionate teacher to support child and adolescent patients in a behavioral health facility. The position is available on a full-time or part-time basis for a 12-month school year, in a small classroom with 8–15 students, Monday–Friday mornings.

You will plan daily lessons, provide individualized support, and communicate student progress while adjusting strategies to ensure success. Attending to attendance and session reports is required.

Qualifications

• Requires B.A./B.S. from an accredited college.
• North Carolina teaching license is required.
• Experience with K-12 students preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and lesson planning ability.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver daily lesson plans in a small classroom.
• Provide individualized student support and progress updates.
• Monitor teaching strategies and adjust as needed to support student success.
• Maintain attendance and session reports.
• Collaborate with the behavioral health team to support patient education.

For more than 26 years, we have provided on-site educational services in hospitals, helping these school-age patients continue their education during treatment and reintegrate successfully into the classroom. Currently, we are seeking a passionate and creative teacher to join our team in Monroe, NC on a full-time or part-time basis for a 12-month school year. This unique position will involve working in a fast-paced behavioral health facility, providing academic support to child and adolescent school-age patients in a small classroom setting as they receive treatment.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to plan and deliver daily lesson plans, provide individualized assistance to students, and regularly communicate about student progress as needed. Additionally, you will monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success and maintain accurate attendance and session reports. Most of our class sizes range from 8-15 school-age patients at any one time.

Position entails a 20 or 40-hour a week commitment, Monday-Friday, 7:30am- 11:30am or 7:30am-4:00pm.
