Job summary

LearnWell in Somerville, MA is seeking a passionate, creative teacher to join our team for the school year in a fast-paced behavioral health facility, providing academic support to child and adolescent patients in a small classroom.

You will plan and deliver daily lessons, provide individualized assistance, monitor progress, and communicate about student status. The role typically serves 8–15 students and runs 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Qualifications

  • B.A./B.S. degree from an accredited institution.
  • Massachusetts teaching license.
  • Comfortable working with K-12 students.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Understanding of subject matter relevant to student needs.
  • Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver daily lesson plans.
  • Provide individualized student support.
  • Communicate student progress as needed.
  • Monitor and adjust teaching strategies for student success.
  • Maintain attendance and session reports.
  • Manage 8–15 students in a small classroom.

Currently, we are seeking a passionate and creative teacher to join our team in Somerville, MA on a full-time basis for the school year. This unique position will involve working in a fast-paced behavioral health facility, providing academic support to child and adolescent school-age patients in a small classroom setting as they receive treatment.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to plan and deliver daily lesson plans, provide individualized assistance to students, and regularly communicate about student progress as needed. Additionally, you will monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success and maintain accurate attendance and session reports. Most of our class sizes range from 8 to 15 school-age patients at any one time.

Position entails a 40-hour a week commitment, Monday-Friday, 7:30-4:30pm.
