Job summary

Monroe Truck Equipment, Inc. in Monroe, WI is seeking a Truck Equipment Installer/Upfitter. You will install truck equipment, read blueprints and job orders, and lay out work procedures while operating shop machines and test-driving vehicles as needed.

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short memos.
• Ability to read blueprints and execute instructions.
• Basic math skills are required.
• Follow instructions from written, oral, or diagram form.

Responsibilities

• Places large truck equipment components in place as specified.
• Reads job orders and blueprints to lay out work procedures.
• Operates shop machines and tests completed work.
• Installs welds, electrical components, bolts, and hydraulics.
• Drives trucks in and out of the shop and test-drives as needed.
• Modifies equipment per blueprints and performs repairs.
• Conducts function tests when finished.

TRUCK EQUIPMENT INSTALLER/UPFITTER

Responsibilities:

• Places large truck equipment components in place as specified.
• Reads computer job orders, and job specifications and lays out plans for work procedures.
• Operates shop machines.
• Installs units such as welds, electrical components, bolts, and hydraulics on various areas of the truck.
• Drives commercial vehicles in and out of the shop as well as test-drives said vehicles as needed.
• Modify equipment, attachments, hydraulic systems, and other devices according to blueprints.
• Troubleshoots for repairs.
• Performs function tests when finished.

Qualification:

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to read and execute instructions as found on blueprints.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Welding experience is a plus, not required.
• Mechanical experience is a plus.
