Qualifications

• Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school and experience equivalent to one year of full-time repair and/or maintenance of engines or related mechanical components, including but not limited to transmissions, ignitions, and brakes.
• Substitution of Education for Experience allows technical coursework to substitute for up to 12 months of experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle and equipment maintenance and repairs of average difficulty.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and computerized issues in TDOT vehicles and road equipment.
• Test repaired vehicles and equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Operate and test TDOT equipment including heavy machinery to verify repairs.
• Document calibration and maintenance activities for TDOT equipment.
