Job summary

Truist Financial Corporation seeks an executive leader to drive governance and strategic leadership across a portfolio of high-visibility initiatives for the Technology & Contact Center (TCC). The role guides programs aligned to business objectives and partners with enterprise stakeholders for successful delivery and change management in AI transformation efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and training.
  • 12+ years of experience in consulting, project management or related roles.
  • Expert understanding of project management framework and large-scale initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of business and technology organizations and policies.
  • Advanced view of process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma).
  • Experience with Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies.
  • Knowledge of banking/investment platforms and operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications; ability to influence leadership.

Job Overview

This executive leader will provide oversight, governance, and strategic leadership for a portfolio of highly visible, cross-functional initiatives supporting the Technology & Contact Center (TCC) organization. The role is responsible for ensuring programs are effectively executed, aligned to business objectives, and delivered in partnership with enterprise stakeholders across Technology, Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Customer Experience. A key near-term priority will be leading organizational change management efforts for TCC's AI transformation initiatives under the Truist Next Generation Engineering (TNE) program. Working closely with executive leadership, McKinsey, TCC Enablement & Readiness, Communications, technology leaders, and project teams, this individual will help drive adoption, readiness, stakeholder engagement, and execution of strategic AI initiatives. The role requires both executive leadership and hands-on individual contributor work, including development of executive presentations, communications, and change management deliverables.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Oversee and monitor the overall health of multiple project portfolios, including intake, planning, business readiness, and execution.
  2. Provide direct leadership to teams of internal and external resources to ensure their ability to effectively deliver appropriate project management, business analysis, business readiness, and client and teammate communications.
  3. Engage with various partners, including Risk partners, to ensure project review, oversight, and mitigation plans are in accordance with enterprise standards.
  4. Oversee the preparation of project materials and artifacts ensuring project documentation has the appropriate level of traceability.
  5. Contribute to short and long-term project prioritization and planning for assigned portfolio and ensuring coordination of planning of initiatives in other areas.
  6. Establish and maintain relationships with key leaders to ensure coordination, support and buy-in of delivery plans within the assigned portfolio
  7. Provides portfolio level dashboards and executive summaries to keep leaders abreast of the health of the line of business portfolio
  8. Attract, retain, and develop top talent, providing a cohesive, inclusive, team-oriented culture aligned with the Truist purpose, mission, and values

Qualifications Required
  1. Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field, or equivalent education and related training
  2. 12+ years of experience in consulting, project management or process improvement related role.
  3. Expert understanding of project management framework and demonstrated ability to implement large scale initiatives and ability to bring clarity to ambiguous assignments.
  4. Demonstrated superior understanding of business and technology organization, resources, priorities, needs and policies
  5. Advanced understanding of process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma)
  6. Experience with Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies
  7. Sound working knowledge of holistic banking/investment platforms, products, services, operations, finance and systems
  8. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  9. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to influence others and facilitate difficult conversations with leadership
  10. Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems, devise solutions and make decisions under pressure.
  11. Ability and willingness to learn and adapt as the needs of the job change
  12. Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products
  13. Ability to travel as needed, occasionally overnight
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Advanced degree in a relevant field of work (e.g., MBA)
  2. Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  3. Process Improvement Professional (e.g. Six Sigma certification)
