Job summary

Washington County is seeking a GIS Analyst to support the Assessment and Taxation department. The role focuses on creating and maintaining the county's taxlot maps using ESRI ArcGIS Pro, analyzing land records, and helping customers with boundary and ownership questions.

You will interpret deeds, surveys, and plats, ensure data accuracy, and collaborate with the Recording and Surveyor's Office to update tax maps and district boundaries.

Qualifications

• Education and experience requirements: Associate's Degree with 2 years GIS experience or 4 years GIS experience.
• Experience with land records and data including deeds, surveys, and plats.
• Ability to explain complex topics to diverse audiences

Responsibilities

• Analyze legal descriptions and land records to determine property boundaries and ownership.
• Create and edit GIS taxlot map data in ArcGIS Pro.
• Assist customers including the public and county staff with questions on boundaries and ownership.
• Research property history and update maps; explain findings to non-technical parties.
• Collaborate with Recording, Property Tax Collections and Surveyor's Office
