Job summary

Lancaster County's Assessor's GIS team seeks a mapper to prepare, maintain, and update parcel maps using ArcGIS Pro. The role translates recorded deeds and plats into accurate digital ownership data within the county GIS.

You will perform data entry, update tax parcel numbers, and provide technical assistance to county departments. An associate degree in drafting and mapping is required, with 1–2 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Requires an associate’s degree in computer drafting and mapping with 1–2 years of mapping experience.
• Experience interpreting deeds, plats, and property documents for GIS mapping is preferred.
• Experience maintaining parcel data and communicating mapping results to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain GIS parcel data in the County GIS system.
• Create and update tax parcel maps and numbers as new data arrive.
• Interpret deeds and plats to ensure accurate property boundaries in GIS.
• Provide technical assistance to county departments and the public.
• Research historical property information to resolve discrepancies.
