Numeral is hiring for a remote role based in Salt Lake City to own complex sales tax cases from start to finish, reconciling data and coordinating with state agencies. You’ll research primary sources, verify answers with care, and craft clear customer communications.

Whether you bring tax expertise or a background in another complex field, you’ll grow by building robust docs and processes, collaborating with engineering, and helping teams sharpen their approach to solving difficult tax scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Own the hard cases, start to finish: filing discrepancies, state notices, registrations, and resolutions.
• Research against primary sources, verify before customers, and document solutions for future use.
• Communicate clearly and calmly with customers, explaining what’s known and what’s being checked.
• Bridge support and product by detailing issues for Engineering and proposing fixes.
• Share learnings with the team and improve docs, processes, and onboarding.
• Help colleagues stay sharp by collaborating and building scalable knowledge.
