Job summary

BDO is seeking a Tax Managing Director in the United States to lead tax strategy, risk assessment, and client advisory across state and federal tax matters. The role involves supervising teams, delivering complex tax solutions, and engaging in business development to expand client relationships.

The candidate will oversee tax provisions, research, and compliance, with a strong emphasis on leadership, communication, and expert knowledge across multiple tax disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree required; Masters preferred.
• Ten+ years of prior relevant tax experience and supervisory experience required.
• CPA, Attorney (admitted in U.S.) or Enrolled Agent required.

Responsibilities

• Tax Compliance: ensure client compliance with authorities while minimizing tax and reporting burdens.
• Research: identify issues to be researched and report analysis clearly.
• ASC 740 (FAS 109 and FIN 48) Tax Accruals: apply firm policies and tax provision expertise.
• Tax Consulting: develop and implement methods to maximize client benefits and reduce taxes.
• Tax Specialization: develop expertise in areas of taxation and advise clients on implications.
• Strategy Development: propose new ideas to reduce taxes or expenses.
• Other duties as required.
