Job summary

Plante Moran in Columbus, OH is seeking an intern who will be treated like entry level staff. You’ll support cost segregation and other tax projects, gaining real client exposure from day one.

This non-exempt internship expects you to pursue a Bachelor's or Master's in accounting or tax, maintain a 3.0 GPA, and work toward CPA licensure while you develop through mentorship and hands-on projects.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in accounting; or Master's degree in accounting or tax.
• Academic success (a minimum GPA of 3.0).
• On track to sit for the CPA exam, with the goal of obtaining CPA licensure.

Responsibilities

• Projects include cost segregation, asset recovery, capitalization vs expense, R&D credits, and domestic producer deductions.
• Work directly with clients to identify and resolve issues.
• Maintain knowledge of relevant tax incentives, regulations and pronouncements.
• Develop relationships with clients and staff, including networking and business development.
• Assist clients to ensure proper documentation of credits and deductions under IRS regulations.
• Deepen knowledge in tax and tax consulting through exposure to both service lines.
