The opportunity

EY's FSO EDGE Private practice offers tailored tax assistance to high-net-worth individuals and private companies, including family-owned and private equity-backed firms. These clients are typically high-growth private entities, from startups to multi-billion-dollar enterprises, increasingly choosing private status over going public. This role involves engaging in technically demanding tax planning and compliance projects, making a significant impact. You will be part of a global team, managing a diverse client portfolio, and engaging in cross-border and cross-functional collaborations. EY supports your development in technical tax knowledge, leadership, and business acumen, working alongside experienced professionals in high-net-worth taxation.

Your key responsibilities

A Senior Services Manager in FSO EDGE Private will oversee tax compliance and consulting for clients, including private entities (C-Corp, S-Corp, Partnerships) and high-profile individuals and families. You will build trusted advisor relationships, coach and develop teams, and ensure high-quality, value-driven service delivery.

Responsibilities include:

1. Consult with clients, escalate complex issues appropriately, and manage expectations regarding responses and resolutions.
2. Deliver and oversee compliance and consulting services to meet deadlines.
3. Apply specialized expertise with high-net-worth clients.
4. Manage communications with client tax teams, trust administration, and other stakeholders to gather and share information for accurate reporting.
5. Support long-term client relationships and manage workflows effectively.
6. Oversee engagement deliverables, team resources, and engagement economics.
7. Advise on complex tax issues, set expectations, and assign tasks.
8. Review staff work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
9. Provide leadership, feedback, and coaching to team members.

Skills and attributes for success

1. Ability to identify and address problem areas to ensure timely and accurate tax work.
2. Experience in client presentations on complex tax topics.
3. Skill in breaking down complex projects and developing client-centric solutions.

Minimum qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with significant tax or financial planning experience.
2. CPA, licensed Attorney, or Enrolled Agent required.
3. At least 8 years of professional tax or services experience.
4. Strong understanding of estate and wealth planning.
5. Experience with federal and state income tax for individuals and trusts.
6. Excellent collaboration, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
7. Knowledge of automated tax processing systems and relevant laws.
