The Opportunity

EY's FSO EDGE Private team provides tailored tax assistance to high-net-worth clients, focusing on privately held companies and their owners and families. These clients range from startups to multi-billion-dollar private enterprises. You will engage in technically demanding tax planning and compliance projects, working as a key contact for diverse clients and colleagues, with opportunities for cross-border collaboration. EY supports your development in technical tax knowledge, leadership, and business skills. You will work alongside experienced professionals in high-net-worth taxation.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Consult with clients, escalating complex issues appropriately, managing expectations, and coordinating efforts with senior management and specialists.
• Deliver and oversee compliance and consulting services, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Apply specialized expertise with high-net-worth clients.
• Communicate with client tax teams and trust officers to gather and share information, supporting accurate tax reporting.
• Support long-term client relationships and manage workflow effectively.
• Manage engagement deliverables, team resources, and ensure quality and profitability.
• Advise on complex tax matters, set expectations, and delegate tasks.
• Review and evaluate work for accuracy and compliance.
• Provide leadership, feedback, and coaching to team members.

• Experience in client-facing discussions on complex topics.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with significant tax or financial planning experience.
• CPA, licensed Attorney, or Enrolled Agent.
• At least 8 years of relevant professional experience.
• Deep understanding of estate and wealth planning.
• Experience with federal and state income tax for individuals and trusts.
• Strong collaboration and negotiation skills, with confidence to challenge senior colleagues.
• Knowledge of automated tax systems and relevant laws.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven high-net-worth tax planning experience.
• Experience mentoring junior staff.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Adaptability to work with diverse internal and client teams.
