Job summary

Baker Tilly is seeking a Tax Manager to deliver tax, accounting and advisory services to small business clients. You will work closely with firm leadership to serve clients, coach staff and help grow the practice across multiple industries.

You will lead engagements, supervise associates, and drive process improvements while maintaining compliance with tax laws. A strong client-first mindset and ability to balance multiple priorities are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required or preferred; CPA/JD preferred.
• Five (5)+ years of tax compliance, accounting and advisory services in a professional services firm.
• Two (2)+ years of supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated management, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project management and communication skills.
• Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills.
• Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred.
• Real estate industry experience preferred.
• NFP industry experience preferred.
• Healthcare industry experience preferred.
• Private wealth industry experience preferred.
• M&D industry experience preferred.
• Oil & gas industry experience preferred.
• FS industry experience preferred.
• PE industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide federal and state tax compliance, accounting and advisory services for small business clients.
• Oversee accounting, bookkeeping and preparation or compilation of financials.
• Review client accounting records and provide analysis and consultation.
• Deliver high-quality client service with responsiveness and accuracy.
• Lead client engagements and improve internal processes and controls.
• Manage client relationships and allocate staffing and resources.
• Ensure client profitability targets are met and supervise staff development.
• Stay updated on local, state and federal tax practices and laws.
