Join Our Team as a Tax Senior Manager, SALT - Income Franchise - Remote Option at KPMG US

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Senior Manager to join our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice. This role offers a remote work option and the opportunity to work with a leading global tax firm.

Responsibilities

1. Assist multi-state companies with state and local tax issues including compliance, advising, planning, structuring, and controversies.
2. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide industry and subject matter expertise to clients.
3. Review state income tax return information before, during, and after preparation.
4. Research and prepare technical memoranda or slide decks on income, franchise, sales and use tax, and other SALT issues.
5. Support clients with SALT controversies, including audit preparation, representation at hearings, and protests.
6. Assist KPMG audit teams with review and analysis of state tax-related financial data; develop and maintain client relationships; mentor staff.

Qualifications

• At least eight years of recent experience in tax research, review of state income tax returns, and advising on multi-state tax issues.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; CPA, JD/LLM, EA, or MTX credential required or within one year of hire.
• Proven ability to lead SALT compliance and consulting teams.
• Strong business development skills and relationship-building capabilities.
• Excellent communication, writing, research, and management skills.
