Selby Jennings (Chicago office) is seeking a Tax Senior / Tax Supervisor for a top 60 CPA firm on a hybrid schedule in Chicago, IL. The role offers exposure to complex tax engagements, leadership opportunities, and a clear path for advancement.

You will prepare and review returns, mentor staff, and collaborate with managers and partners to deliver excellent client service for a diverse client base.

Qualifications

• CPA license or CPA eligibility required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 3-7 years of public accounting experience.
• Currently spending 70%+ of time reviewing tax returns and workpapers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax returns for closely held businesses and high-net-worth individuals.
• Review work prepared by associates and provide coaching and technical guidance.
• Participate in tax planning, research, and consulting engagements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients and serve as a trusted resource.
• Mentor and support the professional development of junior team members.
• Collaborate with managers and partners on client service initiatives and special projects.
• Stay current on federal, state, and local tax regulations and industry developments.
