Job summary

Jackson Hewitt is seeking a Tax School Facilitator to join our team on location in Troy, Ohio, and additional sites in Indiana and Texas. You will deliver engaging tax education to adult learners, guide discussions, and help students practice tax preparation.

Ideal candidates have teaching experience, strong communication, and the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly. This on-site role offers hands-on instruction and ongoing curriculum alignment with our standards.

Qualifications

• 1 year prior teaching and the ability to speak and facilitate a small group of students (5–10).
• Previous teaching, training, or instructional experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to break down learnings and explain lessons.
• Proficiency with computers, software and presenting.
• Patient, motivating, and student-focused demeanor.
• 6 week course with 6.5 teaching hours per week in office.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, structured tax education courses to students of varying experience levels
• Teach core tax concepts including federal and state income tax preparation, deductions, and credits
• Facilitate classroom discussions, exercises, and hands-on tax return practice
• Evaluate student progress through assessments, quizzes, and feedback
• Maintain an organized and welcoming classroom environment conducive to learning
• Stay current on IRS tax laws, regulations, and updates to ensure accurate instruction
• Collaborate with management to align curriculum with Jackson Hewitt standards and training materials
