Job summary

H&R Block is seeking an entry‑level Tax Interview Assistant to help initiate tax interviews by entering client and W-2 information into the tax software and to assist in closing interviews by assembling returns and collecting signatures. You will review the completed tax product with clients, and perform basic bookkeeping tasks while delivering superior client service.

Strong reading and math skills, effective communication, and familiarity with Windows software are important.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Reading and basic math skills needed to begin and finish the tax interview.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and on the phone.
• Experience with Windows-based computer programs preferred.
• Additional state and local requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the beginning of the tax interview by entering client and W-2 information into the tax program.
• Assist with the closing of the interview by assembling the tax return, obtaining signatures, and reviewing the finished product with the client.
• Complete bookkeeping procedures and ensure all clients receive superior service.
• All other duties as assigned.
