Baker Tilly is seeking a Tax Principal to lead the Houston tax practice. The role focuses on growing the market, delivering federal tax compliance and advisory services, and mentoring staff to build client value.

You will work with firm leadership to manage client relationships, oversee complex tax projects, and drive growth through new opportunities while upholding the firm’s standards of quality and integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required
• CPA or JD required
• 15+ years’ federal tax compliance and consulting experience in a professional services firm
• 5+ years’ supervisory experience
• Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead tax services providing federal tax compliance and consulting to commercial clients
• Manage client relationships on day-to-day tax matters for mid-market to multinational entities
• Coordinate with specialty tax practices on state/local, international, and credits areas
• Oversee federal and individual tax planning for clients and review complex research
• Develop business improvements based on client operations and objectives
• Manage staffing, billing, and profitability targets for engagements
• Represent the firm at community events and firm functions
