Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Tax Apprentice to support the initial interview by entering client and W-2 information into the tax program, and to help close the interview by assembling the tax return and obtaining signatures.

The role emphasizes accurate data entry, clear communication with clients by phone and in person, and delivering superior service while completing bookkeeping steps. Additional duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Reading and math skills required to begin and finish the interview.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and on the phone.
• Experience with Windows-based computer programs.
• Additional state and local requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Enter client and W-2 information into the tax program at interview start.
• Assemble the tax return, obtain signatures, and review the finished product with the client.
• Complete bookkeeping procedures and ensure excellent client service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
