Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a tax assistant in Williamston, NC to help start the tax interview by entering client and W-2 information and to help close interviews by assembling returns and obtaining signatures.

You will ensure all clients receive superior service, work with Windows-based software, and comply with state/local requirements. This role emphasizes accuracy, communication, and teamwork in a client-facing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reading and math skills to begin and finish the tax return interview.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and on the phone.
• Experience with Windows-based computer programs.
• Additional state and local requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the beginning of the tax interview by entering client and W-2 information into the tax program.
• Assist with the closing of the interview by assembling the tax return, obtaining required signatures, reviewing the finished product with the client, and completing bookkeeping procedures.
• Ensure all H&R Block clients are receiving superior service.
• All other duties as assigned.
