Job summary

H&R Block in Elizabeth City, NC is seeking a detail‑oriented Tax Interview Assistant to support the busy tax season. You will enter client and W-2 information into our tax program and help prepare documents for client review.

This role emphasizes accuracy, clear communication, and dependable service. A high school diploma and familiarity with Windows-based software are expected, with additional coursework in math or accounting a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Reading and math skills required to begin and finish the tax interview.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and on the phone.
• Previous experience with Windows-based computer programs.
• Additional state and local requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the beginning of the tax interview by entering client and W-2 information into the tax program.
• Assist with the closing of the interview by assembling the tax return, obtaining required signatures, reviewing the finished product with the client, and completing bookkeeping procedures.
• Ensure all H&R Block clients are receiving superior service.
• All other duties as assigned.
