Job summary

HTB, a Baton Rouge-based CPA firm, seeks a Tax Operations & Compliance Specialist to join the hybrid Tax Department. You will combine individual income tax preparation with workflow management, technology support, client assistance, and administrative duties to keep engagements moving smoothly from intake to filing.

The ideal candidate has knowledge of individual income taxation and tax compliance, plus strong organizational, tech, and process-management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business or related field.
• Experience in public accounting, tax preparation, or professional services environment preferred.
• Experience preparing individual income tax returns strongly preferred.
• CPA or Enrolled Agent designation preferred; candidates pursuing credentials considered.
• Strong organizational, technology, and process-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare federal and state Form 1040 returns and related schedules.
• Review client tax information for completeness and identify missing information.
• Assist with tax compliance activities based on experience and workload.
• Receive and organize client tax documents prior to scanning.
• Coordinate electronic delivery of completed tax returns through SafeSend.
• Assist with tax notice workflow and departmental analytics.
• Support workflow management and data integrity within the Tax Department.
