Job summary

Liberty Tax in Houston, TX is seeking a Tax Operations Assistant to support daily office operations, client service, tax preparation when needed, and workflow management while reducing owner’s day-to-day burden.

Part-time hours during the training period will expand to full-time by December 28, 2026. Starting compensation is $16.00 per hour, with performance-based incentives and clear opportunities for advancement within the team.

Qualifications

• Experience preparing individual and business income tax returns.
• PTIN or ability to obtain one.
• Office administration, operations, banking, hospitality, retail, medical office, or similar experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Comfortable learning new software and technology.
• Demonstrated reliability and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Support daily office operations and workflow.
• Deliver exceptional client service in person and by phone.
• Prepare accurate individual tax returns when needed.
• Maintain organized office systems, records, and supplies.
• Coordinate scheduling and operational readiness.
• Assist with local marketing and community outreach.
• Monitor workflow and help resolve operational issues.
• Protect confidential client information.
• Support office coverage when leadership is unavailable.
