Job summary

BDO USA, LLP is seeking a Tax Manager, Private Client Services in San Diego to lead complex tax engagements for high net-worth individuals and families. You will manage client relationships, supervise staff, and provide strategic tax planning and compliance across trusts, estates, foundations, and related structures.

Bring strong communication, leadership, and technical skills to deliver tailored tax strategies, research, and timely filings while helping grow the practice and mentor junior team

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; major in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics preferred.
• Master's degree in Accountancy or Taxation preferred.
• Experience in tax compliance and consulting for high net-worth clients.

Responsibilities

• Manages tax engagements and identifies client needs, tax planning, and consulting opportunities.
• Works with clients and advisers to gather information to prepare tax returns.
• Reviews returns for several entity types and provides feedback to staff.
• Directs communication with government agencies for complex matters.
• Identifies technical issues, conducts advanced tax research, and offers recommendations.
• Develops understanding of tax concepts through client engagements and developments.
• Prioritizes and completes tasks individually and in teams.
• Contributes to PCS/firm initiatives including billing, recruiting, and training.
• Builds and maintains relationships with BDO professionals and external sources.
